This blog is a mini review for the Maybelline Rock Palette that I have been using.
I purchase mine from Watsons
I have recently purchase the Maybelline Rock Palette from a local cosmetic store. So far, I've used the palette for night time look.
The palette basically consist 12 shades. Some of the shades are matte, while the others are shimmers. The shades consist of neutrals, which can act as a shadow base. For a night time look, I paired a neutral color base with a more shimmery dark blue color. To add more enhancement, I used a blue glitter ink eyeliner.
Application wise, the eyeshadow gives a smooth touch, with either applicator or brush. It also blends nicely. There are no scent or fragrance smell from the product. It also cleanses well, with just a makeup remover or micellar water.
Packaging wise, there are no mirrors.
In my opinion, the eye-shadows has a satisfactory pigmentation level. The dark blue gave a nice pigmentation if blended well. A trick that I would use is to spray on facial mist to my eye-shadow brush before application. This will result in a more pigmented spread of eye-shadow on the crease. Another option is to place eye-shadow primer prior to eye-shadows. This primer provides a smooth surface on the crease, and will be a nice canvas for the colors application. This can avoid appearance of lines.
The palette consist of soft purple color, which combines well with a shimmery yellow shadow with a black based. A white eyeliner can also enhance this look.
Overall, I think this palette offers a nice color combination on the cool tones, and makes a good look for night time makeup.
